The leaves are falling and there’s a chill in the air in Willow Ridge, Missouri, the quaint, quiet Amish town where love, loyalty, and faith in the Old Ways are about to be put to the test…
I’m pleased to announce the outing of my book, AUTUMN WINDS, the second story in my Seasons of the Heart Amish series. It arrived in stores on Tuesday, September 4th, and I have to say that even after publishing nearly thirty books, these arrivals still make me smile.
And while I’m the first to say that Facebook groups can be such a time suck, I have to admit it’s been fun to have several fans post that they were going to the bookstore on Tuesday to get my book so they could read it right then. Back in the day when my first books were coming out, I wasn’t even sure what the exact pub date was and I certainly had no such messages about people fetching them that day. The internet has made us a lot less isolated even while we’re holed up writing.
I’m also pleased to say that my editor for Seasons of the Heart, Alicia Condon, has just offered me a new three-book contract! Not only will this extend my series to six books, it tells me that Alicia has faith in the salability of my writing as well as in the continuation of this wave of Amish fiction popularity. The last of these books won’t see daylight until the holiday season of 2015! It’s wonderful to be writing for both Kensington and NAL for the next couple of years, because we writers all know how fleeting our employment opportunities can be.
Because I’m supposed to be working on my WIP, AN AMISH COUNTRY CHRISTMAS right now, and because I also owe my NAL editor an updated synopsis for my next Home at Cedar Creek novel, I’ll keep this short. Feel free to read an excerpt for AUTUMN WINDS—and check out the new recipes for this book!—while you’re here visiting my site. I hope you enjoy reading Miriam’s tale of hooking a younger man with a “dubious” past as much as I enjoyed writing it!
I would like to be notified of any more books in the Seasons of the Heart Series, I have the Autumn and Summer one. Are there any more pending soon? I am very caught up in the story and just love the people I have met in the books. Great story telling. Love the series. Glad I found you
I wanted to let you know that I have read Autumn Winds and I hope you write another book from Willow Ridge cause I will be wondering who marrys Rhoda Lantz. Also I would love to read more on Ben Hooley’s Aunts Nazareth and Jerusalem,if they marry also.I laugh so hard when I read Chapter 21, not to say there wasn’t other parts that I laugh at to. I am waiting for your next book from Cedar Creek. Bless you for giving me something to read and enjoy.God watch over you. Thanks again.Delores P.S. Love the recipes also!
Loved this book as much as I did the first. Wish the next one came out sooner. There are 2 more daughters to write about so hopefully atleast 2 more books.
I just finished reading both “Summer of Secrets” and “Autumn Winds” on my Nook, and couldn’t put either of them down! It will be hard to wait for the third book to come out…I had rushed to download another, only to find these are the only two released so far in this series. I love these well-written characters so much, I can’t wait for the next book! Thank you for reminding me why I enjoy Amish-based literature so much. 🙂
Just finished Autumn Winds, after reading Summer of Secrets. Thoroughly enjoyed each book. Wish there was a third book to continue reading straight away. Hopefully there will be more books in the series. Rhoda, two Hooley aunts and even Rebecca/Tiffany need to marry to complete the series. Please hurry with next book.
I just finished Autumn Winds. I want to go to that cafe and have breakfast with those people. They became such good friends while reading about them. Will there be another in the series?
Loved your book Autumn Winds. I hope the third book comes out real soon. Keep on writing you certainly are a wonderful writer. Love the Amish series.
Have your first two novels and enjoyed so much I got on the net and found 4 of your Angels of Mercy series but can’t find the fifth one. Is there any way I can find this book or did it not get written? If so, what is the title? Also can’t find Naomi King book. I have a Christian Fiction Library in my home and I now have more than 3,000 titles. Thanks for your help.

I too have just finished Autumn Winds and enjoyed it. I look forward to the third book in this series. I have an idea who Rhoda is going wind up with romantically!
Just finished reading Autumn Winds.Loved this and Summer of Secrets! Please tell us there are more coming and when they will be released. Cannot put these books down . !Keep them coming please!!!
I have just finished Autumn Winds and I would love to know what happens to Bishop Knepp. Does he go through the Ban and if he does, if he is repentant at the end! How I would love to be a part of that fictional community, sorta like Rebecca… Not Amish, but a part of the community. Charlotte, I can’t wait for Book 3 of the Seasons of the Heart… So many questions about the lives of the characters… Your writing is just fantastic!
Since I purchased my Nook Color a year and a half ago, I have discovered so many new Amish authors and I am so glad to have found you! I have already read Summer of Secrets and just now finished Autumn Winds. I am so excited to know that there will be a total of 6 books in this series and I can’t wait for the next one to come out!
Your books are wonderful. I felt as if I wanted to be at The Sweet Season’s Bakery; along with everyone else. The recipes a are a great ideas, also. Awaiting the next book after Autumn Winds, soon.
Thanks, Carolyn, for your compliments on AUTUMN WINDS. The #3 book, WINTER OF WISHES, will be out in Sept. of 2013–not what any of my readers want to hear! But with writing my other Amish series, as well—and my publishers deciding on when the books come out—I’m writing as fast as I can and the rest is up to my editors! Your best bet is to subscribe to my newsletter (on my website home page) so you won’t miss new of the THREE books I have coming out next fall/winter!
