Welcome to my website, devoted to my Amish stories!
Where can my Amish stories take you? To the Missouri countryside—but also into the homes and hearts of the many Plain characters you’ll meet there! At Promise Lodge, you’ll be welcomed to a thriving community that was an abandoned church camp until the three Bender sisters and Preacher Amos bought the property! Come sample the fabulous meals Ruby and Beulah Kuhn cook up (and they’ll share their here, too!) as you meet folks who’ve come for a fresh start—and often, a second chance at love, as well. Stay a night in Rosetta’s lodge apartments, buy some fresh veggies and baked goodies at Mattie’s produce stand, and stand in awe of the magnificent Clydesdales grazing in Bishop Monroe’s pastures. This series begins with PROMISE LODGE, and will have a total of five books. In August 2020, my new Maidels of Morning Star series will debut! Stay tuned for more information about five enterprising young women who convert an old stable into Amish shops! With the Riehl sisters, you’ll get a taste of Willow Ridge and you’ll step inside Nora Hooley’s Simple Gifts shop to ooh and ahh over Edith’s baskets, Loretta’s rugs, and Rosalyn’s wreaths. As you make your way through A SIMPLE VOW, A SIMPLE WISH, and A SIMPLE CHRISTMAS you’ll come to love these sisters and their new husbands—and you’ll wonder what on earth their devious dad is hiding. This series is now complete. In my Seasons of the Heart series, you’ll savor the down-home meals served up in Miriam Lantz’s Sweet Seasons Bakery Café—and you can find many of her recipes here on my site, as well as in each book! Willow Ridge, Missouri will feel just like home as you meet Miriam’s daughters, gaze out over their garden plots, sit on their front porch swing, listen to the buzz of Leah’s bees in the orchard, and stroll along the banks of the Missouri River. This series is complete now, but the drama here continues in the Simple Gifts trilogy!
In my Naomi King series, Home at Cedar Creek, you’ll mosey along the country roads of Cedar Creek, Missouri with seamstress Abby Lambright and her family. You can shop at the Cedar Creek Mercantile, visit Graber Custom Carriages and pick up a pot of geraniums at Treva’s Greenhouse as you gaze out over the rolling pastureland dotted with sheep. Cedar Creek is my fictional town in northwest Missouri, in the vicinity of Queen City and near the Iowa border, where many Plain folks make their home in reality. Combined with the two titles in the One Big Happy Family series, my Cedar Creek set is now complete. ABBY FINDS HER CALLING, ROSEMARY OPENS HER HEART, AMANDA WEDS A GOOD MAN, and EMMA BLOOMS AT LAST are the titles, in order. Read more about those on my Books link! Check out my recipes! Sign up for my newsletter! I’m on on Facebook as Charlotte Hubbard (Friend me!) and as Naomi C. King (Like me!) so you can follow what’s new as I write these Amish stories. Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope we’ll get to be good friends.News
